Tests should be done before transplantation to find a healthy match. At times donors are not available for bone marrow transplantation. In that case, their names should be registered in the registries

3- Umbilical-cord blood transplantation

This is also a type of allogeneic transplant where the stem cells are preserved from the newborn baby’s umbilical cord right after birth. Stem cells are immature and therefore no need for testing. The cord blood is frozen till it is needed.
