Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Rejuvenation) Procedure
Local anesthesia is most probably used with oral sedation, during this procedure. In general, the surgeon cuts the eyelids along natural lines. By cutting the skin off the underlying tissue, the surgeon removes the extra fat and skin. The surgeon then closes these cuts with stitches. Surgery can be performed using one of various processes on the lower eyelids. The doctor will cut the lower eyelid in one procedure to remove fat. That cut is not going to be evident. The surgeon may then use a C02 or erbium laser to suppress the skin’s fine lines. Another technique includes cutting along the margin of the eyelash. The surgeon may extract surplus skin, loose muscle, and fat via this cut. After some time, the cut line fades.
