As per the available reports, Ms. Ruth has been diagnosed with anterior angulation of Coccyx. The coccyx (commonly known as the tailbone) is the small, triangular bone at the very base of your spine, situated just below the sacrum. It is typically made up of three to five fused rudimentary vertebrae and serves as a vital anchor for muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the pelvic floor.
Anterior angulation of the coccyx means the tailbone is bent or curved forward toward the front of the body more sharply than usual. Anterior angulation of the coccyx can cause substantial pain, known medically as coccydynia.
To initiate treatment, Ms. Ruth will need to undergo detailed clinical and physical evaluations which include investigations such as MRI Spine and Dynamic X Ray along with some basic routine blood investigations. These investigations will help us confirmation of need for surgery.
Thought it is almost certain that Ms. Ruth will need a surgery, the final decisions can be taken after thorough evaluations upon his arrival in India.
Ms. Ruth needs surgery which is known as coccygectomy. Coccygectomy is a surgical procedure to partially or completely remove the coccyx (tailbone). It is considered a last-resort treatment for severe, debilitating tailbone pain (coccydynia) that persists after 3 to 8 months of failed conservative treatment.
Kindly note: The advised treatment plan is solely based on the reports shared with us; the final line of treatment will be decided post clinical and physical evaluations of the patient on arrival only.
