Dr. Pavitra Shanbhag Bhat is an experienced eye specialist who has worked as Associate Director – Ophthalmology at Hiranandani Hospital and brings over 25 years of experience in treating a wide range of eye conditions.
She completed her MBBS from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Mumbai, and went on to pursue advanced training in Ophthalmology from reputed institutions in India and the UK. Her qualifications include DOMS, D.O., FCPS (Ophthalmology), DNB, FICO (UK), and a Fellowship in Medical Retina and Phaco from the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai.
After finishing her basic medical studies, Dr. Pavitra S Bhat trained at KEM Hospital under well-known eye specialists. Over the years, she has performed thousands of eye surgeries. She is very skilled in cataract surgery using the modern phaco technique, glaucoma surgeries, corneal transplants, squint correction, and eyelid surgeries. She also treats serious retina problems such as retinal detachment and performs advanced procedures like laser treatment and vitrectomy surgery
Dr. Pavitra Bhat has special expertise in treating conditions like squint eyes, glaucoma, corneal damage, and eyelid problems such as drooping eyelids or inward and outward turning of the eyelids. She also manages medical retina diseases, including problems caused by diabetes that affect the eyes.
Dr. Pavitra has received many awards for her excellent academic performance. She won the Dr. G. Venkataswamy Award and Gold Medal for being the top student in DNB across India. She also received the Dr. Sadhukamal Ahuja Award and a Gold Medal from Mumbai University for standing first in her Diploma in Ophthalmology. These achievements show her strong knowledge and dedication to eye care.
