Clinical Case Report: A Pediatric Patient of 5 Years from Kenya having Squint (Strabismus) in both Eyes and Exotropia Undergo Squint Correction Surgery

Patient has been experiencing squint in both eyes (Exotropia) for the past year.

A Squint (Strabismus) occurs when eyes do not align, with one eye turning in, out, up, or down while the other focuses, often causing vision issues if not treated early and Exotropia is a form of strabismus where one or both eyes turn outward, either constantly or intermittently.

We will need to confirm his candidature for surgery by doing some investigations.

Investigations required: Patient will require visual and ocular motility test, cover test, prism test and other routine examinations.

Possible line of treatment: Patient will require squint correction surgery upon investigative confirmation.

Squint correction surgery (strabismus surgery) is a procedure that adjusts the eye muscles to align the eyes, improving both function (binocular vision) and cosmetic appearance.
