Dr. Prashanth Rao is a senior Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon and currently serves as the Director of Gastrointestinal & Minimally Access Surgery, GI Onco Surgery, and Bariatric Surgery at Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. He has over 25 years of surgical experience and is well known for performing advanced minimally invasive procedures.
He specializes in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, which helps patients recover faster with less pain and smaller scars. Dr. Rao treats a wide range of digestive system problems, including diseases of the stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and colon. He also performs weight-loss (bariatric) surgery for obesity-related conditions.
Dr. Rao has strong expertise in GI cancer surgeries, including cancers of the stomach, colon, pancreas, and liver. In addition, he performs thoracoscopic surgeries for conditions involving the esophagus and lungs.
