Dr. Akshay Shah is a Consultant in Hematology, Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), and Medical Oncology at Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. He has over 14 years of experience in treating blood disorders and cancers, with special expertise in stem cell and bone marrow transplantation.
Dr. Shah has completed his MBBS, DNB in General Medicine, and DNB in Medical Oncology and Hematology. He also holds an advanced Fellowship in Stem Cell Transplant from the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and the University of Washington Medical College, USA. He has undergone more than three years of specialized training in stem cell and bone marrow transplant procedures.
He has assisted and performed over 130 stem cell transplants and has carried out more than 100 bone marrow procedures, including bone marrow aspiration and biopsy. Dr. Shah is also skilled in procedures such as lumbar puncture, intrathecal chemotherapy, pleurodesis, and intraperitoneal injections.
