Dr. V. Anand Naik is one of the leading names in spine surgery and currently heads the Ortho Spine & Limb Reconstruction department at Paras Hospital. With 24 years of experience in orthopedic and spine care, he has built a reputation for managing complex spinal conditions with advanced surgical techniques. His academic training includes MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, and MS in Orthopedics from the University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi, followed by specialized spine fellowships in Singapore and Australia.
His clinical focus covers minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS), robotic and navigation-guided spine surgery, complex spinal deformity correction, and motion-preserving disc replacement procedures. Dr. Naik is also known for his expertise in modern fusion techniques such as XLIF, OLIF, and ALIF, which are designed to reduce tissue damage, improve precision, and support faster recovery. In recent years, he has been actively involved in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Mixed Reality technologies into spine surgery.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Naik has introduced several landmark innovations in India. He performed the country’s first Lumbar Hybrid Fixation and ALIF with 5th-generation implants and was among the earliest surgeons to introduce XLIF, OLIF, and MIS 360 Fusion techniques. In 2017, he carried out India’s first 3D-Printed Vertebral Body Replacement Surgery, and in 2019, he introduced viscoelastic lumbar disc replacement devices. He is also credited with pioneering work in robotic and navigation-guided spine fusion and in the application of AI and Mixed Reality for spinal procedures.
Dr. Naik remains actively involved in professional and academic spine communities. He is a member of organizations such as the Minimal Invasive Spine Society of Bharat (MISSB), Association of Spine Surgeons of India (ASSI), Society of Lateral Access Surgery (SOLAS), North American Spine Society (NASS), and the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery. His affiliations also include the Singapore Medical Council and the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Authority (AHPRA), reflecting his strong international engagement in spine surgery.
