Dr. Hamza Shaikh is an experienced spine surgeon with over 14 years of experience treating a wide range of spinal problems. He currently works as a Consultant in Spine Surgery at Manipal Hospital.
He began his medical journey with an MBBS from M. M. Institute of Medical Science and Research, followed by a Diploma in Orthopaedics from PGIMS, Rohtak. To further strengthen his expertise, he completed his DNB in Orthopedics from the National Board in New Delhi.
Dr. Shaikh treats both simple and complex spine conditions using surgical as well as non-surgical methods. He manages problems related to the neck, upper back, and lower back, including slipped discs, nerve compression, spine deformities, injuries, and age-related spine changes. He is skilled in advanced procedures like microscopic and endoscopic discectomy, minimally invasive spinal stabilization, PLIF/TLIF fusion surgeries, and artificial disc replacement. He also treats osteoporotic spine fractures using techniques like balloon kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty.
For chronic back pain, he offers modern pain-relief options such as radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulator placement, and pain pump applications. He also performs correction surgeries for scoliosis and kyphosis and uses special growth-rod techniques for children with early-onset spinal deformities.
Along with clinical practice, Dr. Shaikh is actively involved in professional spine societies. He is a member of SAO Spine, the Asia Pacific Spine Society, and ISKSAA. He is also a lifetime member of the Association of Spine Surgeons of India (ASSI) and has completed the ISKSAA Travelling Fellowship in Arthroscopy & Arthroplasty.
