Clinical Case Report: Case Study of 59-year-old female from Tajikistan, with Right Ovarian Cyst, Hypertension, cardiac issues and Knee Deforming Osteoarthritis, suggested for Cyst Excision Surgery, Hysterectomy with BSO Cystectomy Surgery for ovarian cyst excision

As per the shared reports and information, the patient is reported to have a right ovarian cyst, Hypertension, Knee deforming osteoarthritis, & Cardiac issues. The patient will need to undergo detailed investigations by Gynaecology, Cardiology, and Orthopaedics doctors to confirm the diagnosis.

A right ovarian cyst is a fluid-filled sac on or within the right ovary, potentially causing pain or complications if large, twisting (torsion), or rupturing.

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a serious condition where the force of blood against artery walls is too high, increasing the risk of heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure.

Knee deforming osteoarthritis is the advanced, degenerative breakdown of the knee’s protective cartilage, leading to painful bone spurs, bone-on-bone friction, and impaired joint function.

Investigations needed to confirm the diagnosis –

For Gynecology: She may require – MRI, Ultrasound, and other related blood tests.

For Orthopedics: She may require – MRI knee, X-Ray, DEXA scan, and other related blood tests.

For Cardiac: She may require – CAG (Coronary Angiography), ECHO, ECG and other related blood tests.

Post the detailed investigations, once the diagnosis is confirmed, the final line of treatment can be decided.

Possible line of treatment – She may require either cyst excision surgery or Hysterectomy with BSO cystectomy surgery

**She may require knee surgery for knee-deforming osteoarthritis and medical management for Cardiac issues, but that can only be confirmed as per investigation outcomes.

Cyst excision surgery is a procedure to completely remove the cyst and its sac to prevent recurrence. The process involves a healthcare provider making an incision, removing the cyst and its entire sac using surgical techniques like sharp and blunt dissection, and then closing the wound with sutures. Complete removal of the sac is essential to avoid future problems and recurrence of the cyst.

A hysterectomy with BSO cystectomy is a surgical procedure that removes the uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, and ovaries to treat conditions like cancer, fibroids, or severe endometriosis, with the addition of removing a cyst during the same operation.
