Tumor of Clavicle Unknown Primary Cancer

Clinical Case Report: Case study of 50 year old male from Uzbekistan with tumour of Clavicle as a metastatic site but unknown Primary Cancer recommended for Chemotherapy with either Targeted Therapy or Immunotherapy

The patient has been diagnosed with a tumor of the clavicle, which is a metastatic site from another cancer that we don’t know (unknown primary).

A left clavicle tumor is a rare, usually malignant growth or primary cancer occurring in the left collarbone, often presenting as pain, swelling, or pathologic fracture.

This tumor is suspected to have metastasized to the left cervical area and regional lymph nodes, with an unknown primary origin.

We will need to perform some investigations to confirm the findings, check for the disease stage, and any other metastatic sites. Our primary focus will be to find out the primary site because the treatment protocol will change accordingly.

Investigations needed to confirm the diagnosis and plan the treatment: The patient will need to go through detailed physical and clinical investigations, which will include a PET-CT scan, Biopsy, IHC Markers, molecular studies, Next Generation Sequencing study, and other routine investigations.

Possible Line of Treatment: The final treatment plan will be shared after your complete clinical and physical evaluations.

In all possibilities, he may require 4-6 Cycles of Chemotherapy.

Additionally, depending upon investigative outcomes of the molecular study and NGS study, if any mutation is detected, we will need to add targeted therapy. Else, he may need Immunotherapy along with Chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses one or more anti-cancer drugs as part of a standardized chemotherapy regimen. Chemotherapy may be given with a curative intent, or it may aim to prolong life or to reduce symptoms.

Targeted therapy is a cancer treatment that uses drugs to target specific molecules on cancer cells. These molecules control how cancer cells grow, divide, and spread.

Immunotherapy is a treatment that uses the body’s immune system to fight cancer, infections, and other diseases. It can also be used to treat allergies.

The cycles of Chemotherapy will run once every 2 weeks. Thus, it may take between 12-15 weeks to finish the treatment.

The patient and his attendants will be received at the airport by our Representative. Apart from the medical and nursing team, one Case Manager will take care of all the needs. We shall also assist them with reasonably priced accommodation near the hospital.  The patient and attendant may arrange 35-50 USD per day toward accommodation and food at the guest house.
