Findings – As per shared reports, the patient has most likely been suffering from tinnitus, which we will need to confirm with some investigations upon his arrival. The patient also reports of gradual hearing loss.

Tinnitus is often described as a ringing, buzzing, or hissing sound in the ears, and it can be caused by various factors, including hearing loss, ear injuries, or other health issues. In many cases, the exact cause of tinnitus remains unknown.

Investigations Needed – He will need an MRI, Audiometry Test, and other routine investigations.

Possible Treatment – Most likely, the patient will need Hearing aids to help him control the exposure to sounds and help him recover from hearing loss.

Only in exceptional cases is surgery recommended. A surgery such as Tympanoplasty can be offered if the medical condition so demands. Tympanoplasty can help reduce or eliminate tinnitus, particularly in cases of chronic otitis media (middle ear infection) where the tinnitus is related to conductive hearing loss. The surgery repairs the eardrum and middle ear structures, which restores hearing and can alleviate the tinnitus that often accompanies the hearing problems.

The estimated cost for Initial evaluations will be approx. USD 500-600 on OPD basis.

Estimated Cost of Surgery –

Stay in India: You will require 2-3 days for initial investigations on OPD Basis. For medical management and hearing aid fitment, it will take 1 week. In case of surgery, the patient may only need 1 day’s admission. Total stay in India will be 1-2 weeks.

On Arrival: You will be received at the airport by our Representative. Apart from the medical and nursing team, one Case Manager will take care of all the needs. We shall also assist them with reasonably charged accommodation near the hospital. They may prepare USD 30-50 per day towards accommodation in the guest house after discharge from the hospital.
