Diagnosis:
Based on the reports shared with us, the findings suggest the presence of acoustic neuroma (vestibular schwannoma) along with cyst present in the right temporal region of brain and maxillary sinus. These conditions are also associated with Dyscirculatory encephalopathy.
An acoustic neuroma (vestibular schwannoma) is a slow-growing, benign tumor that develops on the main nerve leading from the inner ear to the brain.
Dyscirculatory encephalopathy (DE) is a chronic, progressive cerebral vascular disease resulting from long-term, insufficient blood flow to the brain, which damages brain tissue and impairs function.
We will need to confirm the diagnosis upon patient arrival.
Evaluations required: The patient will need to undergo detailed clinical investigations which includes MRI, Audiometry, Auditory brain stem response, Biopsy & other related investigations to confirm the treatment plan.
Possible Treatment Plan: The patient needs to undergo detailed evaluation and based on the results of the evaluation further line of treatment will be decided. The patient may require the Craniotomy and resection of tumor with Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Surgery. The neuromonitoring will be done for 7th nerve preservation.
Craniotomy with Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) is a specialized surgical procedure used to remove brain tumors or treat vascular lesions near critical, “eloquent” brain areas. It utilizes real-time electrical monitoring of nerve pathways to maximize tumor resection while minimizing risks of new, permanent neurological deficits like motor, sensory, or language dysfunction.
Kindly note: The advised treatment plan is solely based on the reports shared with us; the final line of treatment will be decided post clinical and physical evaluations of the patient on arrival only
