Dr. Pankaj Agarwal is a senior Neurologist and Movement Disorders Specialist at Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. He is the Head of Neurology, leads the Movement Disorders Clinic, and is also in charge of the Deep Brain Stimulation Program. He is one of the few doctors in India who has received international fellowship training in movement disorders.
Dr. Agarwal mainly treats patients with movement-related brain conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, tremors, dystonia, and similar disorders. His goal is to help patients move better, feel more independent, and improve their quality of life.
He has nearly 20 years of experience in botulinum toxin (Botox) injections, including EMG-guided injections, which help treat conditions like focal dystonia and muscle stiffness. Because of his expertise, many doctors across India seek his guidance and training.
Dr. Agarwal is also highly experienced in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and lesioning procedures, which are advanced treatments used when medicines do not work well. He has trained and mentored many neurologists and has conducted several national and international workshops to teach advanced treatment techniques.
He also played an important academic role as the Organising Secretary of the Movement Disorders Society of India Conference (MDSICON) 2021, held in Mumbai.
