Dr. Bharat Shah is the Director and Head of the Department of Nephrology and Renal Transplant at Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. He is a highly respected kidney specialist with over 30 years of medical experience and has worked with many leading hospitals and medical institutions across India.
Dr. Shah completed his MBBS from KEM Hospital, Mumbai, and continued his advanced training in nephrology at the same institution. He later went to the United States, where he completed a Clinical Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Centre and a Clinical Research Fellowship at New England Medical Center, Boston.
His main areas of interest include kidney transplantation, early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease, high blood pressure, and diabetic kidney disease. Dr. Shah strongly believes in preventing kidney problems and slowing the progression of kidney disease through early diagnosis, proper treatment, and lifestyle guidance.
Dr. Bharat Shah has also played an important leadership role in the field of nephrology. He has served as the President of the Indian Society of Nephrology, West Zone and as the General Secretary of the Zonal Transplant Coordination Committee, Mumbai, contributing actively to kidney care and organ transplant programs in the region.
