Dr. Suraj Bhagat is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with over 15 years of experience. After earning an MD in Internal Medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, he was granted Membership in the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom.
In 2006, he joined the famous Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh for a DM Gastroenterology Fellowship. After completing his DM, he spent more than 12 years at the well-known Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, India. before joining Amrita Hospitals in Faridabad.
He is a therapeutic endoscopist who specializes in advanced endoscopic techniques such as therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, and third-space endoscopy. His specific interests include the overall care of overweight/obesity, fatty liver, and metabolic syndrome (from lifestyle changes to specialized endoscopy); luminal disorders (particularly inflammatory bowel disease); and nutritional rehabilitation.
He teaches and conducts research in his field of expertise and has published in journals and textbooks. Special study areas include the objective evaluation of the effects of Yoga practices in healthy individuals and disease, particularly in the treatment of chronic intestinal diseases.
