Dr. Vivek Vij is a liver transplant surgeon in India who specializes in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary sciences. He is the Chairman of the department of Liver Transplantation & Gastrointestinal Surgery at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram.
In 2015, he received a special award from the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS) in Chicago. Dr. Vij has produced over 50 national and international publications and presentations on liver surgery and transplantation, contributing significantly to the field’s growth.
In 2005, he was the sole Indian candidate selected for the Roche Preceptorship Training Program at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, USA. Dr Vij is the head of Fortis’ extensive Fellowship program, which trains young surgeons and paramedical professionals. Through this initiative, he has mentored and trained over 50 fellows.
