Dr. Prashantha S. Rao is a highly experienced Liver Transplant Surgeon who has worked as the Director of the Liver Transplant Department at Hiranandani Hospital. With over 14 years of experience in Surgical Gastroenterology, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery, and Liver Transplantation, he has been involved in more than 1200 liver transplant surgeries. He is well known for performing both living donor and cadaveric liver transplants, helping patients with severe liver diseases get a new lease on life.
He specializes in living donor liver transplants, complex liver and pancreatic surgeries, and minimally invasive HPB surgeries using laparoscopic and robotic techniques. These advanced methods allow for smaller cuts, less pain, and faster recovery for patients. His qualifications include MBBS and MS from Maulana Azad Medical College, SSTSG, and Fellowship in Liver Transplant from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, reflecting his strong medical and surgical training.
