What is Ilizarov Procedure?
The Ilizarov devices are used for the lengthening or reshaping of the limb bones in surgery. Limb restoration is a slow process that helps restore normal positioning, length and function of the bone and soft tissue of a patient. To restore the limb, the surgeon performs ILIZAROV surgery. This method utilizes a tool called the TAYLOR SPATIAL FRAME TM to utilize the natural capacity of the body to develop good new bone tissue.

Treatment for Ilizarov Procedure
The lengthening / correction of ILIZAROV refers to the time it takes to grow the bone. The first phase starts after the surgeon cuts the bone and connects the TAYLOR SPATIAL FRAME fixator. Over this time, the doctor will adjust the device gradually, increasing the gap between the bone segments and adding length to the total limb. In the course of several months, new bone tissues will increase the gap, ultimately hardening the area between the original bone segments. The strengthening stage starts when the surgeon is satisfied with the entire length and position of the fresh bone. The bone tissue is maturing and becoming strong during this stage. TAYLOR SPATIAL FRAME fixator is to be used by the patient, but there will be no adjusting of them. The longest part of the ILIZAROV is the consolidating phase.
