Dr. Sarita Gulati is a highly experienced heart specialist working as a Consultant in Interventional Cardiology at Manipal Hospital. With over 32 years of medical experience, Dr. Gulati is known for treating complex heart problems with care, precision, and a patient-first approach.
Dr. Gulati completed an MBBS from Punjabi University in 1992 and later earned a DM in Cardiology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in 2001, one of India’s most respected medical institutes. This strong academic background, combined with decades of hands-on experience, has helped Dr. Gulati manage even the most challenging heart conditions.
Dr. Gulati specializes in advanced and complex angioplasty procedures, including treatment of major blockages such as left main artery disease, chronic total occlusions (CTO), and bifurcation lesions, often using the radial (hand) route, which is safer and more comfortable for patients. Other key areas of expertise include rotablation, intravascular lithotripsy (IVL), and orbital atherectomy for heavily calcified arteries.
Dr. Gulati also has extensive experience in using advanced heart support devices like the Impella for patients in cardiogenic shock. Procedures such as TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) and MitraClip for valve disorders are performed with great skill, offering minimally invasive options to patients who may not be suitable for open-heart surgery.
In addition, Dr. Gulati performs pacemaker implantations, including dual-chamber (DDD), leadless pacemakers, AICDs, and CRT-D devices. Treatment of congenital heart conditions like ASD and PDA using cardiac devices, balloon valvuloplasty for mitral and pulmonary valves, and electrophysiology studies (EPS) with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for heart rhythm problems are also part of Dr. Gulati’s expertise. Peripheral angioplasties for carotid and lower limb arteries are routinely handled as well.
Dr. Gulati is an active member of leading professional bodies such as the Cardiology Society of India (CSI), Indian Heart Rhythm Society (IHRS), and the Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC), and also serves as a board member of WIN – APSIC.
