Dr. (Lt Col) Ashok Kumar is a highly skilled radiation oncologist who works as Senior Consultant and Head of Radiation Oncology at Sarvodaya Hospital in Faridabad. He completed his MBBS and DNB in Radiation Oncology, along with several specialized certifications, including Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical courses, Radiation Emergency training (BARC), and Palliative Care (IAPC).
He has also been awarded prestigious international fellowships such as the AROI International Travel Fellowship at Med Austron, Austria (Proton and Carbon Ion Therapy) and the UICC Fellowship at Peter Mac Callum Cancer Center, Australia. In addition, he has earned diplomas in Clinical Research and Healthcare Management, reflecting his dedication to holistic patient care and clinical excellence.
His expertise includes head and neck cancers, brain tumors, breast and lung tumors, gynecologic and genitourinary cancer, soft tissue sarcomas, and palliative oncology. He is also an expert in brachytherapy, which includes intraoperative and interstitial operations across multiple cancer locations, providing patients with sophisticated and tailored treatment choices.
Dr. Ashok Kumar has received many awards, including the Chief of Army Staff Commendation (2004) for excellent service, the Counterinsurgency and High Altitude Service Medals, and both the 9-year and 20-year Long Service Medals. Recently, he received the IG BSF Commendation Card (2023) and gave the Gold Medal Oration on Brachytherapy: The Surgical Branch of Radiation Oncology at SVIMS Medical College in Tirupati (2025).
