Dr. Naveen Chandra G S is the Head of the Department and Lead Consultant of Interventional Cardiology at Aster Hospital, India. He has over 20 years of experience in treating heart diseases and is widely recognized for his expertise in advanced heart procedures.
Dr. Naveen completed his MBBS from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, in 2005. He went on to earn his MD in Internal Medicine from KMC College in 2009, followed by a DM in Cardiology from the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, Kolkata, in 2013. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC, USA), Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI, USA), and Fellow of the Indian College of Cardiology (FICC).
As a the best interventional cardiologist in India, He specializes in coronary angioplasty using both femoral and radial approaches. He treats complex heart artery blockages, including bifurcation lesions, chronic total occlusions (CTO), left main coronary artery blockages, and emergency heart attacks. He is also skilled in Rotablation to clear heavily calcified arteries.
Dr. Naveen is well-trained in advanced cardiac imaging techniques such as IVUS, OCT, and FFR, which help in accurate diagnosis and planning of treatment. He also performs peripheral angioplasty to treat blockages in arteries outside the heart, including those in the legs, neck, and abdomen. He manages venous interventions and pulmonary artery procedures, including catheter-directed thrombolysis and thrombectomy for blood clots in the lungs.
Also, he treats structural heart problems, performing device closures for holes in the heart such as ASD, VSD, and PDA. He is experienced in mitral a
nd pulmonary valvuloplasty. He also implants pacemakers and other cardiac devices, including single-chamber, dual-chamber, AICD, CRT, and leadless pacemakers. Dr. Naveen performs aortic stent grafting for thoracic and abdominal aortic diseases as well.
Dr. Naveen has received numerous awards for his excellence in medicine. He won the Smt. Lakshmamma Memorial Gold Medal and the Suma Jayaram Memorial Endowment Prize for securing the highest marks in General Medicine during MBBS. He has also won multiple first prizes in national cardiology competitions for interesting case presentations and innovative interventions. He was selected to attend advanced interventional cardiology training at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea.
He is a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI, USA), a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC, USA), a Fellow of the Indian College of Cardiology (FICC), and a Life Member of the Cardiology Society of India (CSI).
