Dr. Swarup Pal is a highly accomplished and trusted Cardiovascular, Thoracic, and Transplant Surgeon, currently working as the Chief Cardiovascular, Thoracic and Transplant Surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. With over 28 years of extensive surgical experience, he is known for managing complex heart, lung, and vascular conditions with precision and compassion.
Dr. Pal completed his MBBS from LTM Medical College Mumbai, followed by MS in General Surgery, and further pursued MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CVTS) from the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai. During his training, he gained comprehensive expertise in both adult and pediatric cardiac surgery.
He further refined his surgical skills under the mentorship of Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. M. R. Girinath at Apollo Hospital, Chennai, one of India’s most respected cardiac surgeons. Alongside clinical work, Dr. Pal has been actively involved in academics and has served as a DNB teacher at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.
Dr. Swarup Pal specializes in complex coronary artery bypass surgeries including total arterial beating-heart bypass, valve repair and replacement surgeries, congenital heart defect corrections such as ASD and VSD, and surgeries for aortic aneurysms and dissections. He is also highly skilled in minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS) and robotic cardiac procedures.
His expertise extends to advanced thoracic and lung surgeries, including decortication, VATS procedures, pleural interventions, lung resections and biopsies, treatment of tuberculosis-related complications, and lung hydatid disease.
